Chicago Engagement Photography: Stephen and James

I couldn’t be happier to help Stephen (at left) and James document their wedding day.  In almost perfect timing of the 1-year-anniversary of legalized gay marriage in Chicago, it’s wonderful to see these two get married.  James is thoughtful and quiet, Stephen is just hilarious.  Together, this peaceful couple and I spent a beautiful afternoon doing what they love.  Walking their dog, Romeo, around the neighborhood and going out for ice cream.  I love photographing clients in locations that mean something to them, doing things they enjoy doing together.  These quiet moments mean more than posing in front of Chicago landmarks, and I’m so pleased to get to know my clients so I can photograph them in a personal way.

Together, Stephen and James are a combination of calm and funny, and are just nice to be around.  I tried to capture their appreciation of quiet moments in their photographs, with the exception of Romeo, who knocked me over countless times with his powerful energy!  Thank you so much, you three!  Please enjoy your photographs and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding at Firehouse Chicago!
