Logan Square Engagement Session: Anna & Cody

I love asking clients what is most important to them, where are their favorite hangouts, and what do they love to do together?  This way, our Chicago engagement sessions are focused around what matters most to them.  We don’t tour Chicago and smile for the camera at the most popular spots… we get to know each other so I can see Chicago through their eyes, and they can relax in front of the camera because they’re already comfortable.  Anna and Cody are so wonderfully funny, relaxed and happy, we started their Logan Square engagement session at their home and took the dog for a walk!  It doesn’t get any easier than this!

We stopped by the Boiler Room Chicago where they Anna and Cody had their first date!  This awesome bar offers free Jameson shots if you use their ATM, which makes it a perfect excuse to carry cash.  🙂 .   We also visited a true gem in Logan Square, the Fireside Bowl.  This vintage bowling alley opened up in the 1940s and hasn’t changed much!  The owners were wonderful, and let us enjoy the bar and alley while taking a lot of fun photos!

Thanks so much, Anna and Cody!  Click here to see more Chicago engagement sessions!

  • […] Q. How/why did you choose your venue? A. It was a unique and intimate space and suited our guest count. And their flowers are amazing. Q. Why did you choose Candice to photograph your wedding? A. She has a beautiful portfolio of work with rich imagery and a focus on candid moments and storytelling. Q. What were some of your favorite moments on the wedding day? A. I loved having a quiet moment with each other the morning of the wedding, before the chaos set in. We sat on the deck of our hotel room, drinking coffee and fine-tuning our vows. Q. Which detail(s) did you like best about your wedding? This could be an element of decor, something unique about the venue, something you hand crafted, etc. A. I loved how fun and colorful the whole event was. We didn’t need too much decor because the space itself was so beautiful, but the flowers were incredible and added the color and whimsy we love. Q. Any other wedding vendors you recommend? A. Our caterer was amazing. They not only provided food, but basically acted as our wedding planner. All of our vendors made the process painless and the event magical. Q. Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding day? Any tips for couples currently planning their wedding? A. We loved how much the whole wedding just felt natural and felt very “us” and I think our guests could sense that too. I think it’s important to stick to what feels right for the couple. Q. What’s next on your calendar as a couple? You can tell us about your honeymoon, big moves, plans for family, new jobs, or anything else you’d like to share! A. We’re excited to settle back into our regular life after all the excitement. We took a honeymoon to Sonoma and Big Sur and it was so nice to have a couple of weeks of relaxation and just enjoying each other’s company.
