Chicago Hyde Park Engagement Photography: Kerry and Evan

I’ve known since childhood about the importance of belly laughs. When I photographed Kerry and Evan’s engagement photographs, I realized I had found a houseful of folks that love to laugh, including their dogs, but don’t dogs always look like they’re laughing?

I love documenting couples instead of strictly posing them in their engagement photographs, so when Kerry and Evan suggested I meet them at their Hyde Park home to photograph the two of them making dinner inside their beautifully renovated kitchen, I loved the idea.  Toss in their gentle and very beautiful doggies, Corby (white dog) and Lucy (furball!), and I could have photographed them all week!  Corby was especially excited with all the action and decided to pee on the floor, which was met with lots of laughter.  So congratulations, Corby, your piddle on the floor totally made my blog!  🙂

After the cooking lesson, we took the dogs for a walk along the Hyde Park lakefront where we dodged antsy seagulls, enjoyed the sunset and could even see a glimpse of Indiana in our view from the water.  Chicago has the most incredible views, but the Hyde Park neighborhood is truly unique, filled with antique homes and a beautiful lakefront.
